The short version: Budget Lap keeps your budget on your phone, and nowhere else.
The app has no permission to use the internet, so it can't send your data anywhere, including to us. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Who we are
Budget Lap is made by Hearthli Labs, a one-person studio in Melbourne, Australia. You can reach us at hello@hearthlilabs.com.
What the app stores
To work, Budget Lap saves these things in its private storage on your phone:
- your budget and the currency symbol you picked
- the amounts on your widget buttons and the order of the widget rows
- each amount you log or refund, with the time you logged it
- your past laps and their totals
That's all of it. The app never asks for your name, email, location, contacts or bank details, and it doesn't read anything else on your phone. Other apps can't open this storage.
What we receive
Nothing from the app itself. We never see your budget, your spending or your history.
Some information reaches us through Google or through you:
- Your purchase. Google Play handles payment, and we never see your card details. Google shares some order details with app makers, such as an order number, price and country. We use them for sales records and tax, and to sort out refunds when you ask.
- Crash reports. If you allow your phone to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google may give us anonymous crash and performance reports in the Play Console. They tell us that something broke, not who you are or what you've logged.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we get your email address and your message. We use them to reply and nothing else, and we'll delete them if you ask.
Backups
If Android backup is turned on, your phone can copy Budget Lap's data to your Google account. That's how your history follows you to a new phone. Google runs that backup under its own privacy policy, and we can't see it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings, under Google, then Backup.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Budget Lap deletes everything it stored on your phone. To start fresh without uninstalling, clear the app's storage in your phone's app settings. A copy may remain in your Google account backup until Android replaces or removes it.
Children
Budget Lap isn't aimed at children under 13. It doesn't collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what happens to your data, we'll also mention it in the app's update notes on Google Play.
